It's been quite a year for St. John Rotary, and I am happy to report the club is healthy and moving forward in a positive direction.
All our major projects went well--we distributed 60,000 free books to the VI children, then gave every St. John school child either supplies, a dictionary or a planner. We hosted the best ever Flavors event and acknowledged our Viet Nam veterans. Our Valentine's Day orchid sale was a little quiet, but we were still able to make a contribution to Rotary International's Polio Plus fund. The Blues Festival was magnificent by the Adrian ruins, and Children's Carnival was its usual roaring success. Quite a lot for a small club!
Our good news, going forward, is that we will be meeting at the Westin for lunch on Wednesdays, starting July 13th.
The new board of directors under B. J. Harris' experienced leadership will discuss all our options for meetings, since Rotary International now allows fewer than weekly meetings for clubs. We hope to attract new members with positive attitudes and a willingness to work together for the greater good of the community and the world. Diversity will be key to the success of the club and the projects we take on in the future.
Best wishes to BJ and her team!
