Wednesday, May 4th, we WILL NOT HAVE A MEETING.  Most of our leadership will be at the District Conference in Nassau.
We were happy to welcome our Assistant District Governor, Marston, to the evening meeting at the Westin's Snorkels Bar in April

Marston came with ten of his Rotary club compadres and with a good turnout of our own members, they livened up the meeting tremendously.  He brought us up to date on numerous VI North, District 7020 and Rotary International initiatives.  The RI Council on Legislation met in April and has changed the mandatory attendance requirement to 50% as well as approving makeups anywhere, anytime.  This will go a long way in allowing members to continue to maintain the level of attendance required!  2017 is the Centennial of the Rotary Foundation, and since the foundation was started in Atlanta, GA, the meetings will be held there next year. We should all attend, as it will be a particularly important time.
Harry presented our club with a certificate and flag for being supporters of Viet Nam veterans, commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the war.
We were sorry to have member Doug White resign this month.  Doug did so in protest of Rotary International's stance on climate change at the Council on Legislation meetings.  It seems RI is not willing to make this a focus of the organization at this time.
We all should plant as many trees as we can, not just for Earth Day, but to generate as much oxygen as possible!
A medical school in the Virgin Islands?  Come to the third Wednesday meeting at the Westin and find out!
