Here we are in February, one of the busiest months for St. John.
The Animal Care Center's gala is this Saturday, our Valentine's Day orchid sale is next week, Eight Tuff Miles and the Julius Sprauve School gala are on the 27th. And this year's Blues Blowout is March 26th, so mark your calendars!
We will continue our leadership education this spring, with the President-Elect and Secretary training in conjunction with the District Conference in Nassau. All members are encouraged to attend, there are educational opportunities for everyone.
Angel Bolques, an aspiring member, joined us last week with an update on the Election Committee--their office is moving to the Marketplace and they hope to have more education on the importance of voting for our children, as well as registration drives. There will be a new voting machine that is reported to be very easy to operate! We hope so.
Our guest Rotarians, Dan and Jay Pike (father and son), hail from Minnesota and a club that's 75 years old. They have 69 members, and their biggest project is as Food Angels. A large percentage of the children in their area receive free lunches each school day and the club raised money to provide bags of food for these kids to take home on weekends.
