Prez says

We received 60,000 free books from Better World Books and have already started sorting and distributing them on all three islands.  It has been wonderful working with Rotarians on St. Thomas and St. Croix and sharing their excitement as they opened the container for their first look!

 

Our own St. John Sporting Center is working to raise funds to send seventeen VI kids, thirteen and under, to the AAU Baseball International World Championships in Ft. Lauderdale next month.  Any donation, large or small, is welcome.  Send them to the Rotary Club of St. John, PO Box 700, St. John, VI 00831, with baseball league in the memo!  Our new Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, Elroy Hill, is the point man on this initiative.

 

The STJ Rotary Scholarship Committee had its preliminary meeting and will be interviewing and selecting this year's shining star to receive our $5,000 annual scholarship shortly.

 

I have been supporting the Savan Neighborhood Action Committee's work cleaning up all of Savan and revitilizing what was a great place to grow up!
