Five intrepid St John Rotarians gathered at Jumbie Beach Saturday morning. Starting at the road and working toward the beach, then from the beach working toward the road they braved stinging nettle, catch and keep, and other spiky flora to gather two and 1/2 large garbage bags of litter.

Led by Catherine Fahy, the team included John Fuller, Kathy Hurley, B.J.Harris and husband Tom.

Jumbie is a relatively clean beach, not subject to hordes of tourists nor flotsam and jetsam and we had collected three large bags of litter in September. Again this year we recovered an automobile tire and rim, many glass bottles, cans, a dollar bill, and (retireved from a tree) one pair of men's very dirty boxer briefs, size large. All agreed that there was less litter this time than last September.
