DG Alastair meets with our Board
In an idyllic setting beside the beach at the Westin under a canopy, District Governor Alastair Paterson met with the St John Boards of Directors and Trustees following the club meeting Friday, November 10.
DG Alastair, his wife Meg, ADG Diana, and ADGE Don attended the meeting of the boards and offered wise counsel and advice as we reviewed ongoing and planned projects. They had earlier in the day had a tour of the island culminating in a visit to VIERS where Director Randy Brown led them through the history of VIERS and Rotary's association with it. The Science in the Park and VIERS Anniversary exhibits were still present adding much interest to the visit.
DG Alastair addressed the club at the regular meeting encouraging us to continue with planned projects and to take full advantage of the Think Caribbean initiative. He noted that St John is unique and scrapped the speech he would give at the larger St Thomas clubs, opting for a more informal approach. It is unfortunate that his visit must be so short, and he was invited to return for a more leisurely visit in the future.
