Sunday, September 23rd , eight Rotarians and two guests descended on Jumbie Beach as a part of 2007 VI Coastweeks. Our Rotary club adopted Jumbie Beach and clean it vigorously twice a year.

This is the cleanest we have found the beach, road and parking area over the three times we have cleaned it.  Last year in September we found a remarkable array of trash, garbage and items which SHOULD have been recycled.  Our subsequent cleanup on Earth Day this past April resulted in less litter than before, but we again got a tire (with wheel) and a very disreputable pair of skivvies (found in a tree).  We also found a dollar bill which went into the Happy Dollars collection. This time no tires or underwear but we did gather amongst the bottles, cans and cigarette filters some fishing line and a hook, a GI Joe, one steering wheel cover and a stroller wheel.

Cleanup crew: Catherine Fahy, Gerianne Kotas, John and Lee Fuller, Miles Stair, Christie O'Neil, BJ Harris and friend Susan, Sharon Coldren and Joan Bermingham.  Thanks to you all!
