The Honourable Premier Galmo Williams graced us with his presence at the Changeover Night and delivered a word of thanks for the Club's efforts this year

The Rotary Club of Providenciales held their annual Installation Banquet, also called Change Over Night this past Saturday night at Opus in Providenciales.

The night proved to be very enjoyable with the Premier, Hon. Galmo Williams also attending and giving his congratulatory remarks to the club for a job well done over this past year. He also thanked the club for their assistance in the wake of Hurricanes Hanna and Ike.

As outgoing president John Lawson thanked the club for their work during his year, he noted the unexpected challenge of the hurricanes and for the first time, this club taking part in a number of matching grant projects that have benefited this country and helped in others.

He also gave out a number of Paul Harris Fellowship Awards for members who gave exemplary service throughout the year.

The club came together at the end of the year and also selected Joy McKenzie as Rotarian of the Year.

The new board taking over this year was then announced in the persons of Mike Sottek as President; Art Forbes, President Elect; Owen Hamilton - Vice President, Cheryl Ann Shand,  Secretary; Mary Scott, Treasurer; Yasmin Rigby Blues, PR Chair; Betty Maclaine, Service Projects co-chair; Raymond Cushine, Service Projects co-chair, Thashena Adderly, Club Services Chair; Lester Foreman, Sergeant at Arms; John Lawson - Immediate Past President and Foundation Chair; Karl Issac, Rotaract Chair; and Karen Biker - Assistant District Governor.

The club is looking forward to another great year, hoping though that there would be no need for another hurricane recovery committee, but preparing themselves for more exciting projects.
