MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT LOURDES VALDEZ

Serving as a Rotarian President has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Being recognized with the Rotary International President Citation Award reflected the deep passion I have for bringing people together to serve others and strengthen the community. My journey in community service has taught me that the real impact begins with compassion, connection, and a willingness to help wherever help is needed. Through the years of working alongside local organizations, volunteers, and community leaders, I have learned how powerful it can be when people unite around a shared purpose. As President of the San Diego Downtown Evening Rotary Club, I will continue to use those experiences to inspire service, support families, encourage young leaders, and create opportunities that uplift others. I believe leadership is not about titles --it is about listening, encouraging, and helping people feel seen, valued, and supported. My goal is to continue building a positive and lasting impact by leading with heart, bringing communities together, and living Rotary's spirit of "Service Above Self."
