Rotary Sunrise Prepares Annual Student Gift

The Literacy Committee invite you to attend a "sticker party!"  It's when Sunrise Rotarians put Sunrise stickers inside the 600 dictionaries we will be donating to the high schools for the start of the new school year.

Please let Su Mander know if you can join us tomorrow, Thursday 27th August, starting at 5.30pm at the Foster's Distribution Centre.

Please come and help us get the stickers stuck quick. There will be some wine/beer, snacks and fellowship to keep us going!

Making Connections During Membership Month

We are proud of our members and we want our members to be proud of being a Rotarian. One way to show your pride for Rotary Sunrise is to bring a guest to our club meetings and share our club’s events and successes with friends, family and colleagues. But there is another way, as many of our members joined Rotary Sunrise for the networking opportunities why not show your Rotarian pride by adding your volunteer experience with Rotary Sunrise to your LinkedIn social networking account. If you have a professional LinkedIn account you can share the fact you are a Rotarian by adding volunteer experience to your profile. If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile then consider setting one up today, it’s free and allows you to connect your professional connections that will likely include many Rotary members.

Be proud of your membership status, not only during Membership month but always, and show your professional network that you are Rotarian and have been for many years in different roles. Not only will your profile get more positive activity but it may also encourage one of your connections to reach out to you as a potential Sunrise member. To learn more about LinkedIn visit https://www.linkedin.com.

Make Membership More Rewarding

The good you do comes back to you.

Rotary’s new member benefits program gives Rotary members access to discounts on a variety of products and services selected with their interests in mind.

Discounts & special offers

Rotary Global Rewards offers discounts on car rentals, hotels, dining, and entertainment. More products and services from companies around the world will be added throughout the year. Check back often to see what’s new in Rotary Global Rewards.

How it works

Anyone can view the offers and discounts on Rotary Global Rewards. But only Rotary club members who are signed in to their My Rotary accounts can redeem them. You can access and redeem rewards from your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Create a My Rotary account now to take advantage of the new member benefits program.

A Look Back at Last Week's Meeting

Kent Green and Tim Nicholson take part in an icebreaker activity as part of Membership Month: interviewing each other about professional achievements and personal qualities. Our guest speaker, Zoe Conolly Basdeo, shared stories of her recent trip to India where she studied religious history and cultural aspects of the subcontinent.  She also discussed the rewarding activities that took place at the recent RYLA weekend. Our friends Andrea Bryan and Lynne Whittaker flank President Christine as they hold certificates naming them as Honorary Rotarians in light of their personal decisions to scale back from full-time membership during 2015-16.
