O God and giver
of all good,

We thank thee for
our daily food.

May Rotary friends

Help us to serve thee

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill

Will it be beneficial

Earlyact Car Wash a Success!
Submitted by Youth Service

Our Earlyactors did a great job washing cars last Saturday morning at their fundraising event. Rotaractors and Rotarians showed their support by helping the youngsters wash the cars or by bringing their car by to get washed! In all the Earlyactors washed about 10 cars. After all the hard work, the kids were treated to Wendy's where they were all smiles.
The funds raised will go towards buying presents for the less fortunate this holiday season. Thanks to everyone who volunteered or were involved in organizing this project

If you have not supported one of our youth initiatives I strongly encourage you to do so. Visit the Earlactors at their next club meeting on Monday, December 15th at 3:15pm at the George Town Primary School. Contact Youth Chair Ivana for more information on the class room location.

Fun & Fellowship in Business
Submitted by Secretary Gina McBryan

Statistics have shown attendance at our business meeting tend to be lower than other regular meetings. We can only suspect this is due to the meeting announcements and speeches. Well this is about to change starting at our next business meeting on December 10 because we are putting "fun" and "fellowship" back into "business". For every business meeting going forward we will have a "fun & fellowship" component to them. For Wednesday, the popular People Bingo ice breaker that many of you experienced back in August will be in play on but this time with a Christmas theme. This game will allow you to mix and mingle while learning more about your fellow Rotarians that you many not have known before. And with every game there are prizes!! We will have 3 holiday prizes to give away for those who love to win something, so get ready to play B-I-N-G-O.

To liven the mood, President Kim is also asking all members to wear a Santa Hat for a group photo after the meeting. You are encouraged to wear it throughout the meeting to add some festive cheer to the morning. If you have some extra hats please do bring them along so everyone can have fun in their Santa hats.
The group photo will be used to spread cheer and Christmas spirit to our partners and friends of Rotary as we wish them a Happy Holiday from Rotary Sunrise. We will also post the photo on our Facebook Fan page and Group page for added fun.

New Chairperson for Club Service
Submitted by Club Service

Please note, Rotarian Howard who was our Club Admin Chairman for this year has had to step down from this role due to business and time demands. As a result, Rotarian Kent Green has volunteered to step in to Chair the committee for the balance of the Rotary year. Chairman Kent is also supported by Rotarians Berna and Garth. If anyone else would like to assist this committee please talk with Rotarian Kent as planning arrangements for Charter Night (April 18) and Change Over Night (June 26) will creep up on us soon enough.

Rotary Sunrise Christmas Party
Submitted by Fellowship Committee

Rotarians, family members and friends, please join us for our last meeting of 2014 to celebrate the holiday season with a potluck party feast.
This year's Rotary Sunrise Christmas Party will be held on December 17th at Rotarian Berna's home in South Sound. The celebration starts at 6:30pm - 9:30pm. We're asking Rotarians to contribute by bringing a dish from the list below. The event is BYOB. Rotarian Berna has generously offered to provide a turkey with trimmings.
View the list below or contact Rotarian Dawn to confirm options so that we're sure all needed items are covered.
  • ham
  • pasta dish,
  • salad or steamed vegetables,
  • appetizers (a variety would be nice),
  • potato/sweet potato dish,
  • cranberry sauce,
  • cheese/fruit platters,
  • ice - water,
  • juices for kids,
  • desserts,
  • dinner rolls,
  • disposable plates, disposable cups, disposable cutlery
Whatever item you will be bringing, please note this in the comments field when you sign up online so that Fellowship is able to monitor what's left to be provided.
Last but certainly not least - Santa will be in attendance for photo ops with our little ones (and some of you big ones!).  If you would like for your child to receive a present from Santa please arrange for a gift to be given to me ahead of time (wrapped and tagged with your child's name on it), and I will ensure it gets to Santa ahead of time.

Save-the-Date for Change Over!

Once again Rotary Sunrise is proud to sponsor the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre with their Jingle Bell Walk/Run taking place on Sunday, December 14th. Our sponsorship helps to fund the programs needed throughout the year at the Crisis Centre. As a sponsor, Rotary Sunrise will be recognized on this year's t-shirts for the run. As members, you can provide additional support by registering for the walk/run either at Foster's at the Strand on December 13, ALT on December 13 or on race day. You can also register through Cayman Active at http://www.caymanactive.com/register-jingle. Entry fee for the run is CI$25 and children under 12 years of age are free. All registered participates will receive a t-shirt.
