Vocationl Service Award's
Every year, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Central looks to the community to identify two individuals that demonstrate the following personal qualities;
· Adhering to and promoting the highest ethical standards in all occupations.
· Recognizing the value of all useful occupations, not just those that are pursued by Rotarians.
· Contributing one’s vocational talents to meeting the needs of the community.
In October of last year, all Rotarian club members were asked to submit their nominations along with their reasons why they thought their nominee was worthy of such an award. I am please to state that after receiving a number of nominations, we identified two deserving recipients; Ms. Phyllis Moxam, who is employed by Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits. And Mr. Bergman Ebanks owner of Caribbean Bakery. Both recipients were selected and each awarded a certificate of appreciation and a check for $500.00 as a small token of the clubs appreciation for all they do, to make their work environment and community in general a better place.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the award ceremony was postponed until January 3rd 2012 which took place at the Grand Old House. Both recipients where present to receive their certificate of appreciation and check. We are pleased that we could show our club’s appreciation to Ms. Moxam and Mr. Ebanks for all that they have done and continue to do within their chosen vocation.
In closing, I would like to state that the key to this award is that selected individuals demonstrate the values of Rotary’s 4-way Test, which are;
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendship?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
