Take a Kid Fishing
and a great time was had by all! The children were split between 2 tenders and a great crew of Rotarians went with them for a fun day out! Hooks were baited as we set out through North Sound for the Reef and the children picked their spot for dropping their line overboard. The catching of the first fish was a magic moment...everyone gathered round to see and admire it! At one point the photographers were run ragged trying to catch each fish and successful fisherman before the fish, much to its relief, was released back into the sea. There was no shortage of excitement as first a snapper, then a flounder, then an eel and a parrot fish were held up for comment. By 2pm all children were safely back on shore and the Rotarians retired for a 'cold one' and tales of the 'one that got away'!
Many thanks to Captains Len Layman and Steve Morris for their hard work and organisation! For more photos see photo journal on right hand side of the news page.
