Silent Witness March

Once again, Rotary Central turned out in support of the Silent Witness March, held annually to remind people not to be silent when it comes to domestic abuse. The 100 or so marchers walked silently from the Glass House to the LA Building where they listened to speeches and affirmed their belief that victims should not keep quiet about abuse. It was a powerful message. It is a real problem on the island and the effect of living with abuse is devastating for the islands' children. It is a well known fact that living with abuse or the effects of abuse, including verbal, physical, sexual and substance or alcohol misuse has a profound effect on the ability of children to go on and live a normal life. Rotary Central believes that there is no excuse for domestic abuse.
