Immediate Past-President Sandy McFarlane attended the
She presented four awards. Two John A. Furze Memorial Awards, worth US$1,500 each, were presented to the top students graduating with Associate Degrees in the Science and Computing Faculties. Receiving these awards were Ashari France and Sheree Smythe. Dwayne Lumsden and Estina Hamil received CI$500 each for coming top in the Construction and Electrical Certificate Programmes.
The club has been presenting the John A. Furze awards for the
past ten years, in memory of our Charter President, and the Certificate Awards
for over twenty years.
IPP Sandy commented that it had been a very exciting
evening, and that the students had been very impressed with the awards, none of
which had been announced in advance.
