DG Visits Central Club

District Governor of Rotary District 7020, Rupert Ross and his wife Cheryl, paid a visit to Rotary Central at their meeting at The Marriott Beach Resort on Tuesday evening.
He attended a meeting of the Board of Directors during which time he heard of the past achievements of the club and their plans for the coming year. He then indicated his own plans and hopes for his year of office 2008/2009, issuing challenges to Central regarding a Membership Drive and donations to the Rotary Foundation.
There then followed a regular meeting of the Club at which District Governor Ross was the Guest Speaker. He was able to comment on the high esteem in which Central is held in the Rotary community and he added his hopes of seeing a large number from the Central Club when it comes to his District Assembly in St.Croix, in the Virgin Islands in May 2009.
He extended the invitation to include current members of the Board of Directors and especially the Incoming Board for the year 2009/2010 who would be required to attend the PETS programme. (President Elect Training Session.) This also includes the Incoming Secretary. Dinstrict Governor Ross is to continue his visit to the Grand Cayman Clubs on Wednesday and Thursday, having already visited the Rotary Club of Cayman Brac on Monday.
