Cheque for Literacy

September 8, 2008 was acknowledged as 'International Literacy Day' to bring
to focus the literacy needs world wide! Over 780 million of the worlds
adults do not know how to read and write. In accordance with the theme
'Reading Across the Continents, on behalf of the CIRA,
Rotary Central sponsors donated CI$1165.00 to the HM Cayman Islands Prison Service. This donation assists in a bookkeeping course for inmates. Seen here accepting the cheque is educational coodinator of the Prison, Mrs. Natalie Joseph-Caesar.
