RCGC Disaster Recovery

The Rotary Club Grand Cayman has undertaken to develop a partnership with Hazard Management and be activated by the National Emergency Operations Centre as part of the Voluntary Agency Responders (VARs) Emergency Support Team. VARs can be activated to respond to any large scale emergency to assist with the National Response. VARs is made up of a number of different NGOs/ Service Clubs and is chaired by the Cayman Islands Red Cross.

As part of this and primarily for our club,  the aim is to develop a robust emergency plan as well as a register of our members listing their skills, resources available and their locations.

The main purpose it to be able to reach our Rotarians in an Emergency,  to have a list of their locations and resources that they would be willing to share if required.

We already have a fairly robust communication through club runner and the What’s App. If members are not comfortable in sharing their exact address, then perhaps just the location / street name.
