Committee Description & Terms of Reference
Purpose
The Fellowship Committee strengthens the bonds among members through social activities, camaraderie, and a welcoming club atmosphere. Strong fellowship underpins member engagement and retention, making the club enjoyable and connecting members beyond meetings and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise social and fellowship events throughout the year.
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive club atmosphere.
- Help integrate new members socially into the club.
- Strengthen relationships among members, partners, and families.
- Support attendance and engagement through enjoyable gatherings.
- Coordinate fellowship at club meetings and special occasions.
Typical Activities
- Organising social outings, dinners, family events, and celebrations.
- Greeting and welcoming guests and visiting Rotarians.
- Recognising birthdays, anniversaries, and member milestones.
- Coordinating fellowship around club and district events.
Composition
Led by the Fellowship Chair, supported by members who enjoy organising events and building community. Works closely with the Membership Committee on retention and engagement, and with the Sergeants-at-Arms on meeting atmosphere.
Coordination & Reporting
- Board of Directors: reports on fellowship activities.
- Membership Committee: partners on retention and new-member integration.
- Sergeants-at-Arms: coordinates meeting tone and welcome.
- Public Image Committee: shares photos and event highlights.
