YMCA

Mr. Smith joined in late 2013 as the first CEO of the YMCA of the Cayman Islands. Prior to this recent post, Smith was an executive in the US with the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, FL.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Smith completed a BA in Psychology at the University of Central Florida and MSM in Organizational Leadership at the University of South Florida.

Having also served in the US Army on tours in Europe and the Middle East, Smith gained a wealth of diverse knowledge in the non-profit sector through a successful YMCA career that began in 1995, serving youth and families throughout Florida and Texas.

With a passion for sports and wellness, helping youth reach their potential, and building healthy relationships, the YMCA provided perfect alignment for Smith’s career choice. On joining the Y in Cayman, Smith stated “I have been granted one of the rarest experiences a YMCA professional can have, to establish a new Y, and in such an amazing community of people.
