Committee Description & Terms of Reference
Purpose
The International Service Committee advances Rotary's mission across borders by supporting humanitarian projects, international partnerships, and global understanding. It connects the club with Rotarians and communities worldwide to address needs that extend beyond the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and support international service projects and partnerships.
- Foster goodwill, peace, and understanding across cultures.
- Coordinate international grant projects with partner clubs and districts.
- Promote international fellowship and exchange opportunities.
- Support global Rotary causes, including PolioPlus and the areas of focus.
- Engage members in projects that have international impact.
Typical Activities
- Partnering with overseas clubs on global grant projects.
- Supporting international disaster relief and humanitarian efforts.
- Promoting Rotary Friendship Exchange and international fellowships.
- Raising awareness of global issues at club meetings.
Composition
Led by the International Service Director, supported by members with international interests or connections. Coordinates closely with the Foundation and Service Projects committees and with international partner clubs.
Coordination & Reporting
- Board of Directors: reports on international projects and partnerships.
- Foundation Committee: coordinates global grants and giving.
- Service Projects Committee: aligns cross-border initiatives.
- Partner clubs/districts: collaborates on joint projects.
