Water Tanks Installed in Haiti

Five water tanks purchased by the Rotary Club of Tortola for the Haitian community school of Ile Vache have been installed, greatly increasing the amount of clean water available to children at the school.
We received word (as well as photographs) in December from our Rotary partners in Haiti confirming that the tanks had been installed. We provided funding for five tanks, and the Rotary Club of Cayes provided funding for one.
The tanks are in addition to the donation we made to pay teachers' salaries at the school for the present school year, as well as our initiative to send outboard motors to the community's fishermen. The engines were delivered just before Christmas.
The project stemmed from a presentation made to the club earlier this year by local musician Michael Beans, who had previously adopted the school in Ile Vache.
All the club's donations have been made in partnership with local Rotarians in Haiti as well as the regional Haiti Task Force.
