Under the theme “Escape to a Mediterranean Fantasy”, the Rotary Club of Tortola will present their 12th Annual Grand Affair Charity Dinner and Auction at Deadman’s Beach, Peter Island Resort & Spa on 9th April 2016. The event promises to be an exciting evening of entertainment and elegance for a worthy cause under the leadership of Past President Henry Creque, Director Mitsy Ellis-Simpson and President Elect (2017-2018) Karia Christopher, Co-Chairpersons of this year’s Grand Affair.  The gala will be hosted by its customary patrons His Excellency - Governor John Duncan and Mrs. Duncan but at a fresh and stunning location.
 
The purchase of a ticket for $200 per person will provide a Mediterranean themed experience of a lifetime right here under Caribbean blue skies, a delicious five course dinner and a chance to win prizes in an exciting Live and Silent Auction setting with several prizes including luxurious sailing packages, fine jewelry and outfits, gold coins, electronics, vacation and hotel packages, art work, pottery, home and garden items and many more treasures.   
 
The Rotary Club of Tortola will preliminarily conduct an Online Silent Auction which will be opened from 1st April and closed 6th April 2016 prior to the ultimate event in Peter Island on 9th April 2016.  Persons wishing to participate in the Online Silent Auction may create an account and register with the Club’s Online Auction at www.32auctions.com/rcotgrandaffair2016.
 
Proceeds from the Grand Affair will be used to establish a New Youth Empowerment Centre in Purcell Estate to service nearby communities such as Belle Vue, Baughers Bay, Lower Estate, Long Bush, Johnson Ghut and Horsepath.  Additionally, a special purpose vehicle with wheel chair access will be purchased to assist the elderly and persons with special needs. The Club will also plans to purchase medical equipment for the Iris O’Neal Clinic in Virgin Gorda.
