Rotarians Jeff Morgan and Michael Kilhourhy had the job of judging the Joyce Samuel Primary School's first ever Science Fair on 17th March 2017.  The Rotary Club of Tortola has been supporting the School in conjunction with the law firm Ogier since "adopting" it in 2010 under the BVI adopted schools program.  Joyce Samuel Primary School is the current BVI Primary School of the Year and its Principal, Orlandette Crabbe, was named Primary Principal of the Year in the BVI's Stars in Education Awards.

After completing his duties, Michael, who represents both Rotary and Ogier at the event, said "it was a great honor to be asked to help.  The judging was quite a task though, all of the children had worked incredibly hard and the standards were very high, picking out individual winners was not easy.  While in the end though there had to be some who walked away with prizes, really the whole school was the winner and the event was a true showcase of the talent, effort and achievements of pupils and staff alike."

Since adopting the school, the Rotary Club of Tortola has assisted the school in a number of ways from helping out at school celebrations to running a successful reading program to providing new play equipment for the school.
