The Rotary Family of the British Virgin Islands, in collaboration with the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVHSA), is proud to present Matters of the Heart: Cardiovascular Symposium 2026, a comprehensive cardiovascular health initiative aimed at improving community awareness, prevention, and early intervention.
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of illness and mortality globally and within the Caribbean. This symposium is designed to equip members of the public with practical knowledge, life-saving skills, and evidence-based guidance to better manage and reduce cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes.
The programme will feature patient perspectives on living with cardiovascular disease, CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) demonstrations, heart-healthy nutrition discussions, and guidance on physical fitness and lifestyle modification. By combining clinical expertise with community education, the symposium reflects Rotary’s commitment to disease prevention and treatment.
This initiative underscores Rotary’s strong partnership with national health stakeholders and its continued focus on service projects that deliver measurable impact and sustainable health outcomes for the people of the Virgin Islands.
Matters of the Heart aligns with Rotary International’s Areas of Focus and exemplifies Rotary’s role as a trusted convener, advocate, and partner in advancing public health education.
