Henry Creques was inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Tortola on Thursday February 04

 

Sponsored by his mother, Rotarian Lorna Smith, Henry Creque, husband of Rotarian Shirley Creque, and father to Aria, Aiden and Skye was born and raised on and around our beautiful British Virgin Islands where he attended the St. George's Primary and British Virgin IslandsHigh Schools.

Henry is an Electrical Engineer and he studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology – a university consistently ranked the top engineering institution in the Southern United States, where he graduated with highest honors, in 1996.

For the past nine years Henry has managed the Transmission and Distribution Department at the Territory's best reputed … and worst reputed, electric power utility company – The British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation.

With his wife Shirley, Henry also owns and operates a small IT company – CrequeCreations which provides software and website solutions for both traditional and non-profit organizations.  Professionally he is a member of the IEEE (I triple E) Electrical Engineering Society and the Chartered Management Institute.

As a volunteer Henry has served the community in leadership roles in the BVI Young Professionals, the BVI Lawn Tennis Association, the Technical and Vocational Education Steering Committee and  New Life Boys' Brigade; and as a member of the St. George's Secondary School Fundraising Committee and the BVI Olympic Committee.

Thus far Henry has worked with on our Festival Float, The fun-car rally and the Grand Affair committees.
