Rotary Club of Tortola receives additional $24, 000 for its H.O. Creque Educational Trust

Rawlinson & Hunter Limited on February 17, 2011 during the Club's weekly luncheon at the Moorings Mariner Inn presented a cheque for $24,000 to the Rotary Club of Tortola's which will go towards the Henry O. Creque Educational Trust.

Director of Rawlinson & Hunter Limited, Mr. Kenneth Morgan handed over the cheque which came from a charitable trust of which the Company are trustees to Chairman of the Scholarship Fund Attorney Gerard Farara QC.

Mr. Morgan stated that in financial services the need for suitably qualified persons will only increase and it is the trustee's belief that every effort must be made to prepare BVIslanders as fully as possible to compete in what is considered a global business.

Mr. Morgan urged the chairman to put the funds to good use and to find suitable recipients as soon as possible.

Attorney Farara QC expressed thanks on behalf of the trustees of the H.O. Creque Educational Trust and by extension the Rotary Club of Tortola.

"It is good to see that the trust is being recognized in this way and it also good to see these funds are being channeled towards education which is the heart and soul of the territory", Farara said.

The H.O. Creque Educational Trust was launched five years ago and it will provide financial assistance primarily towards education. With this donation the trust now stands at $150,000. The club has sent out advertisements inviting BVIslanders to apply for the scholarship.
