In a combined clubs meeting called by president Melvin of the Rotary Club of Road Town, marking the 105th anniversary of Rotary International, the Road Town club awarded Paul Harris Fellow status to Ernest Scatliffe.

President Melvin had high remarks for Mr. scatliffe, who though not a Rotarian, is thought to have typified the standards of Rotary. Mr. Scattlife is seen as a community comrade, who has donated his time, money and labour for various community activities. One such activity is the annual Kiddies Fiesta, where for the past two years, Mr. scatliffe has donated his sound system, his stage and tent for this rotary outreach to the youth. President Melvin stated that their club sought to identify someone in the community who would be suited for the Paul Harris fellow, and by vote, Mr. Ernest Scatliffe was selected.
