During the week of November 8- 12th, District Governor Louis Wever made his first official visit to the British Virgin Islands and met with the BVI Rotary Family. During his visit, he was the guest speaker for the Rotary Club of Tortola, discussing about Rotary International’s mission of increasing the membership, which we succeeded in, and made mentions to other initiatives such as HANDWASH, POLIO+, disaster preparedness and the environment.

During his visit, DG Louis indulged himself with the BVI culture during his visit and sampled many of the Territories dishes. At the time of his visit, the BVI was recognizing Culture Week and enjoyed the cultural fair at the club’s sponsored schools.

In addition, DG Louis was able to assist the BVI Rotary family in hands-on projects by replanting red mangrove seedlings across the coastline of Paraquita Bay.

During his time here, he toured the island of Tortola and paid a visit to each clubs signature project and later within the week, attended the annual Foundation Dinner from the BVI Rotary family. On the island of Virgin Gorda, DG Louis and his wife Amanada visited Virgin Gorda, toured the island, visited some projects from the Rotaract Club of Virgin Gorda and enjoyed a relaxing lunch while being serenaded by a saxophonist.
