When moral is low and support is waning, who wants to be lectured on the importance of having priorities ordered, such as being able to read, write, or to excel in school?  So, President Leroy did what was only right in extending a warm club welcome to our adopted school, the BVI Technical & Vocational Institute.

He encouraged them by stating that their environment and circumstances need not determine who they become, as he too had humble beginnings but can now attest to success derived from keeping focused.

Earlier this week President Leroy had met with Principal of the school, Ms. Cynthia Brannigan, in order to do an assessment of its needs.  Ms. Brannigan advised him that there is a prevalent feeling amongst the students that they are not welcomed in the District.  She stated that their morality is low.

As an immediate tangible gesture, President Leroy hosted a few of the students at the Rotary Club of Tortola's weekly luncheon meeting.  This was a reminder to them that they are always welcomed by Rotary.
