2007-8 Board Installed at Dinner
During the proceedings, the 2007-2008 Board was installed. The new Board comprises:
President Mary Finley-Jones
Mary Finley-Jones has been a Rotarian since 2001, although she is no stranger to the club; her late husband, David Jones, was a Rotarian since 1997. Mary was Club Secretary from 2001-2003 and was named Rotarian of the Year in 2003.
Vice President Leroy Moses
Leroy Moses, the island manager for Island Shipping and Trading, has been a Rotarian since 2001. He has served previously as club service director and community service director.
Secretary Monica Ramjeet
Monica joined the Club in 2003 with the classification resort management. She is the general manager at Nail Bay Resort on Virgin Gorda. Monica has been a Rotarian for more than 12 years, first joining the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman in 1995.
Sergeant-at-Arms Archibald Christian
Past President Archie Christian has been a Rotarian since 1987. He is a real estate appraiser at Smith's Gore BVI.
Treasurer Everton Knight
Everton Knight has been a Rotarian since 2005, and this is his first time serving on the Board. He is an senior accountant at Meade Malone & Co.
Director Derrylyn Churchwell
Derrylyn Churchwell works at the Moorings in yacht sales, and has been a Rotarian since 2004. Her classification is yacht management sales.
Director Nigel Bailey
Nigel Bailey owns his own captive insurance consulting company, and has been a Rotarian since 1991. Nigel served as International Service Director previously from 2005-2006, and was also Club Secretary in 1992-3.
Director Stephen Cooper
A Rotarian since 2005, Stephen Cooper operates a business in the BVI that supplies specialist building materials. This is his first time as a member of the Club's board.
Director Lorna Smith
Lorna Smith is executive director of the BVI International Affairs Secretariate, a department of the Chief Minister's Office. This is her first time serving on the Club's Board of Directors.
President-Elect Percy Rhoden
Percy Rhoden's classification is general construction, and he owns and operates Meridian Construction.
Secretary-Elect Sam Welch
A Rotarian since 2002, Sam Welch is charter manager at Tortola Marine Management. Sam moved to the BVI in 1979, the same year that he left the Royal Navy after a decade of service.
Immediate Past President Ron Potter
Ron Potter jointed Rotary in 1996 with the classification international accounting. Ron is an audit partner at Deloitte & Touche. In addition to being a Past President, Ron is a past Vice President and Treasurer of the club.
