On Saturday 18th November 2017, the Rotary Club of West Nassau (RCWN) continued its campaign to plant at least one tree per member in its club.

RCWN, in conjunction with Commonwealth Brewery Ltd and the Ministry of the Environment planted a young lignum vitae tree. This is a significant gesture, as the "tree of life" is the national tree of The Bahamas. It is also of significance for two other reasons. The Ministry has launched a campaign to plant at least 10,000 trees in The Bahamas this year. Secondly, the planting of trees is in line with the charge by RI President Ian Riseley for each club to plant one tree per member.

In attendance at the event were the Hon. Romauld Ferrera, Minister of the Environment, Christopher Russell, Ministry of the Environment, Hans Neven, Managing Director - Commonwealth Brewery, Dennis Hanna, Director of Public Relations - Commonwealth Brewery, Chris Dorsett, President - RCWN, Nick Symonette, Community Service Director - RCWN, Ricky Roberts, Past Director - RCWN.
