RCWN Holds First Club Assembly of 2017/2018 Administrative Year

On July 22nd the Rotary Club of West Nassau held its first club assembly of the 2017/2018 administrative year at Halcyon Restaurant, Charlotte St. The event was well attended, with over 30 of the club’s 52 members participating in the half-day session.

At the assembly, the President and incoming board outlined their plans for the club over the next 12 months and listened to the feedback of its members on the direction they wish to see the club move this year.

The theme for this administrative year is “Inspiring our Youth, Building our Future” and the board presented a unified and integrated strategy to focus on serving the young persons in The Bahamas. Some of the highlights of the meeting were sharing the strategic plan for the year, which include starting a scholarship program for deserving high school graduates, beginning a mentorship programme and strategies to engage existing members of the club through creative and interesting programmes.

Discussions were quite lively and enlightening with many members sharing their views on how the club can build on its already strong legacy – many of these the board will seek to incorporate in its plans as best as possible.

Overall, feedback on the strategy was positive and the board feels confident in having the support of its membership as it moves to execute on its ambitious agenda.
