It is often said that a health of a nation is the wealth of a nation. In the Bahamas, the Walk-in Clinic has made a bold move to provide medical care through the We Care Card. It is an opportunity for more Bahamians who cannot afford medical insurance or the desired comprehensive healthcare plan to benefit from preventative healthcare. Dr. Kemp said that the targeted audiences are persons who are underinsured, uninsured, and persons who want to supplement their current insurance coverage. These groups of persons consist of breadwinners, seasonal workers, union members, middle class, and the middle aged. He also advised that those who are already insured can use the Card for minor health problems and use their other insurance plan for catastrophes and hospitalization.
