This morning did indeed turn out to be an eventful one for our scheduled guest speaker, COB President Janyne Hodder, who now has a great cocktail story to tell for years to come. Ms. Hodder arrived at the Hilton this morning at about 8:25 by police escort, siren and all!

She lives on the Eastern Rd, left home at 6:20 am, apparently met a line of traffic on the Eastern Rd. turned off into Winton, and apparently it was all downhill from there (literally and figuratively). She actually got lost after a few turns, and somehow ended up on Prince Charles, made her way to Bernard Rd through St. Augustine's College (Lia the College's PR person was guiding her by phone the whole time), and got stuck on Wulff Rd after exiting the Bernard-Village-Wulff Rd round-about, which was where she flagged down the motorcycle cop. After explaining to him that she had to give a presentation to a group of Rotarians, the officer promptly responded, and she ended up having the ride of her life at high speed she says following this officer down the middle of Wulff Rd.

So there's a story to go along with your morning coffee. It was a pretty rough morning for her and she was incredibly apologetic, but Carla and I assured her that we all understood and certainly appreciated the incredible effort she made in getting there, and we did what we can to lighten things for her. And Mark she has confirmed September 21st to make her presentation to out Club.
