Changes to the US Visa Application Process

The Rotary Club was pleased to invite Mr. John Armstrong, Acting Chief of Missions for the United States Embassy, to present at its weekly meeting on March 7, 2013 the "Changes to the United States Visa Process."  Mr. Armstrong discussed the discontinuation of print out forms and the need for applicants to only print the confirmation page.  He also noted that the key drivers for changing the current Visa application process were to improve security and efficiency. This new process will go into effect Monday the 11^th March, 2013 globally. There will be no further need to purchase the scratch cards to make appointments and the cost will remain at $160.00 per/person.

During the launch of this project, applications should expect some minor difficulties over the course of the next few weeks as the system is tuned based on usage.  Mr. Armstrong strongly recommended planning applications a few months in advance to ensure a smooth and stress free process.  Once a US Visa application is approved for processing, it will be possible to collect your passport the next business day at a designated DHL location in New Providence.
