The World is in a turmoil

He continued, most of us would agree that the world is in a mess. In years gone by, there was a direct connection between action and consequences. If you did something bad you would be punished; on the other hand, you would be praised for doing good. Some individuals are not properly socialized so they don't know basic manners such as respect, etc. As a result, they're unable to socialize others including their children. Part of the social process includes culture, religion, education, government and community. However, many persons are untouched by many of the positive influences around them and seek to create havoc in society. In fact, they are unable to see the connection between what they do and the possible consequences. So many persons are angry because they believe the religious, educational, legal and various other institutions have failed them. We aren't where we are by virtue of what we did yesterday and have reaped what we've sown. However, there is still hope but we need to do preventative medicine and be more intentional in what we do. Rotarians must continue to use whatever influence they have to make the Bahamas a better place including being a part of the mentorship process for our delinquent youths. As a nation we must redouble our efforts to do more to get the results we've never had if we are to make the Bahamas a better place.
