The Jaipur Limb Project
During the month of November members of RCNS were addressed by Rotarian Peter Bates on the Jaipur Project ad its implementation in Haiti.
In celebration of Foundation Month members of the Rotary CLub of Nassau Surise were treated to a presentation by Rotarian Peter Bates on the Jaipur Project and its implementation in Haiti.
In many countries thousands of people suffer considerable difficulties because of amputated or deformed limbs as a result of accidents, war and diseases like leprosy and polio. The Rotary Jaipur Limb Project in conjuction with organizatons such as the Rotary Foundation has sponsored limb camps and permanent centres in many parts of the world. At these camps individuals are fitted with artificial limbs at no cost to the patient, enabling them to walk and work again. The artificial limbs allow the wearer to walk over rough ground and wade through water.
