Sunrisers Computer Pledge Makes Student Spotlight

Tanya Hanna's September 5th visit to the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise netted her Student Spotlight Centre a plegde of six computers.
Mrs. Hanna told Sunrisers about Student Spotlight Centre. A non-profit, Board run initiative on which she, her husband Paul and sons Mustapha and Troika each sit.
The Centre is an umbrella foundation for three programmes:
1. Most Improved Student of the year
2. After School Programme
3. Self Discovery Workshops
The most improved student programme targets the failing student. It is based on a motivational rewards system to improve the students' academic performance.
Character building is a key element of the after school programme, and music is one of its primary teaching tools.
The Self Discovery Workshop is designed to help students discover their innate abilities.
Mrs. Hanna explained to Rotarians that their programmes were primarily computer driven and that they needed six computers for their Centre.
Without missing a beat, Rotarian Tanya, who is also Sunrise's Director of Community Services, committed the Club's donation of these computers to Student Spotlight, as part of Nassau Sunrise's ongoing Computer Literacy initiative.
The presentation of these computers is expected later this month, date time to be announced.
