Project Lend A Hand

Project Lend a Hand is a project to help the homeless and those less fortunate in our society.  It is an initiative by the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise conceived to provide measurable and tangible help to the increasing numbers of persons who are, or are on the verge of, homelessness largely due to recent economic misfortunes.  

 

Project Lend a Hand is a project to help the homeless and those less fortunate in our society.  It is an initiative by the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise conceived to provide measurable and tangible help to the increasing numbers of persons who are, or are on the verge of, homelessness largely due to recent economic misfortunes. 

 

There are four phases of Project Lend a Hand: charity drives for food, bedding, clothing etc.; a public awareness campaign; fundraising and community development projects.   The Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise will work with members of the public, corporate sponsors, other civic organizations/NGOs and government agencies to institute sustainable programs.  So far, two charity drives plus many radio interviews have been held as part of the first and second phases.  The first charity drive took place on May 1 at Solomon's Super Centre.  On May 29, 2010, The Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise partnered with the Zonta Club of Nassau for a second drive at Town Center Mall.  The second drive was supported by many private citizens as well as corporate sponsors including Prime Bahamas, Nautillus water and Bahamas Wholesale Agency.
