My Job Talk allows us to learn more about our very diverse new members. This weeks presentations given by left to right - James, Petra, Coretta and Sharda were quite interesting.

Rotarians, Coretta Owens, Sharda Stuart, James Poole and Petra Johnson shared their diverse backgrounds and occupations with fellow members. Coretta, currently a realtor, has her own event planning business. Sharda, originally from Trinidad, moved to the Bahamas about a year ago, and loves it. She works from her home office for a subsidiary of Nestle, that's based in NY. She is married to Craig who is also a member of Sunrise. James works at Scotiabank. He is originally from Scotland and has been living in the Bahamas for the past years with his wife whom he met while in India. Petra is from Germany and works for herself as a masseuse. She shared some tips on handling stress. Stand straight and take a deep breath in, as you exhale, look to the left and say, "this is the past, I cannot do anything to change it, I'll leave it there". Then, take another deep breath and look to the right, as you exhale say, "this is the future, I don't know what's there, and I have no control over it, so I'll deal with it when I get there". Then, look forward and take a deep breath and as you exhale say, "This is the present, I am standing strong, there's a roof over my head, my tummy's full, I'm alright". For the most part, when you're in the present, you're alright, so there is no need to worry and stress.
