Hands for hunger is a humanitarian organization committed to the elimination of hunger and reduction of food waste. Its vision is to ensure that no one goes hungry on a daily basis. The organization was founded in June 2008 and is modeled after Global Food Rescue Programs. On a daily basis the organization delivers food to feeding programs across the Bahamas such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Soup Kitchens and the All Saints Aids Camp to name a few. The organization has 40 committed donors including hotels, restaurants, grocers, bakeries and wholesalers. The organization's goal is to create greater awareness about the issue of hunger in our country and how widespread it truly is.
