Family of Rotary Committee wins 2nd Quarter Team Award

The Second Quarter Team Award was made to The Family of Rotary Committee under the leadership of Chair Coretta Owen. That committee, a new one for the club, has sought to incorporate family members and events into the club's life. At the beginning of the year, they planned a back-to-school exercise. They were also instrumental in remembering birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions and have kept club members up-to-date. They have also ensured that bouquets, gifts an/or cards were delivered by Rotarians to members in hospital and those who were sick or celebrating a special ocassion. Additionally, they have sent wreaths in support of grieving members on the occasion of a death in the family. The team also planned a Family Christmas dinner (a first for the club) and also arranged to have spouses as guest speakers during Rotary family month in December. The Third Quarter Team Award will be presented in March. President Carla hopes that the award will serve as appropriate recognition and thanks for some hard-working Nassau Sunrisers as well as inspiration and motivation for all club members in rendering Service Above Self.
