Olympian Rafer Johnson and Special Olympics of Ventura County Director Laura Mayo accept check for Special Olympics

Rafer Johnson, Olympic champion and Honorary Member, has been a stalwart support of the Special Olympics for years. Rafer and Laura Mayo, of the Special Olympics for Ventura County, were given a check for $45,000 from the club, the result of this past year’s Mid-Summer Wine Event. The club has raised about $400,000 for Special Olympics over the years, according to Richard Williams and Carol Freeman.
