Jim Gilmore to Serve as Vice Governor

Rotary International has asked districts to get in the habit of naming a vice-governor to look after a district, should the district governor become incapacitated unable to serve for any reason. See here for more information: https://www.rotary.org/en/council-approves-dues-increase unlimited-e-clubs

Ideally, the DG nominating committee is involved with the formal appointment process. This did not happen for us last year so we are currently without a vice-governor.

I’m feeling pretty good again today, but I think it’s a good idea to comply with the request for leadership backup, so I have named Past District Governor Jim Gilmore as vice-governor for the remainder of the 2016-17 Rotary year.

Jim was a terrific district governor for us and continues to stay well-informed about district activities and developments. I’ve also asked this year’s nominating committee to officially nominate a vice-governor for the 2017-18 year when they meet later this year.
