Antiques Roadshow: There was not a dull moment. They kept coming, bringing heirlooms, old paintings, glassware, chairs, guns, pipes, and some sentimental items with no monetary value. It was Rotary's second Antiques Roadshow, held on the third floor of the First National Bank. Some people left disappointed. Some left delighted. All left better informed about the treasures sitting around the house.
Thanks to Jeri, who brought the whole show together by arranging for David McCarron to appraise and for scheduling so many people. This was really a time-consuming job, but everything flowed very well. And thanks to those Rotarians who donated their time to help during the event.

Rotary provided a helpful service to the community - and brought in about $1000 for the coffers.
Howell Days: As part of the Howell Days celebration, the Press & Argus had a special feature about old time Howell. One item seemed particularly interesting:
"In 1840, there were 11 saloons in just two blocks. At night the people inside the taverns were so noisy and rambunctious, many guests headed out to the streets for safety and quiet."
Is that what they mean by "the good old days"?
