Today, August 27, 2007: Rotary is honored to have its District Governor, Audrey Chavalier, as its speaker.

Next Week: Labor Day. No meeting.

September 10: Bill Earl has the program called, "The Way It Was." Bill has always had very interesting programs, so we are again expecting a treat.

September 17: Dan Jaros' program has Rick Resinger from Champion Chevrolet speaking on "New Car Line Up."

Pete Baldwin

Many of the new Rotarians may not have known Pete (Paul Baldwin, actually) because he was an unassuming, quiet man with the raspy voice. But you might have noticed that there is a park on Byron Road named in his and wife Norma's honor. That speaks so much for his involvement in the community and in the Howell Junior Chamber of Commerce. Most know that Pete was a major force for the creation and development of the JC's in the state. And if you wanted something done right, you called on Pete and Norma.

Earlier Pete ran the family pharmacy (where the Uptown Coffee House) is now and later worked at the hospital.¦nbsp; He was a big supporter of the University of Michigan's athletics, especially football and basketball, although he was never the rah-rah guy, just a loyal fan.

Pete, we at Rotary will miss you. The community that you served so long and so well will miss you. And all your many friends will miss you.
