The Howell Rotary Club met on Monday, September 19th for lunch at 12:00 in the Community Room at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital on Byron Rd. in Howell.

Our next meeting is Monday, Sept 26th - same time and same location.

Our program featured a video presentation by District 6380 Governor Steve Youtz.  Governor Youtz  addressed the club about a wide range of Rotary programs and initiatives.  His video message was a prelude to his actual Club Visitation.  Originally, Governor Youtz was to visit our club on October 3, but due to some pressing family business his visit has been rescheduled for October 17.

Our program September 12th was hosted by Pat Convery and her guest speaker was Dan Glisky.  Dan informed the Club about the upcoming “Get Healthy Day” scheduled for September 24th from noon to 8:00 at the Howell City Park on Thompson Lake.  Get your family involved and visit this exciting event scheduled for noon to 8:00.  Wall climbing, exercise regimes, healthy eating (including food samples), wellness programs, etc will all be available.  Entrance is free.

Once again we spent several minutes this meeting “volunteering” so come prepared!  Many thanks to the many of you who have already stepped forward and put you name on the sheet for a job at the Tour de Livingston, October 9.  Special thanks go to  Howard Dillman who added 4 more names to the volunteer sheet - all Howard's fellow employees at Lansing Community College.  Jeanne Clum, our Sergeant-at-Arms, will be seeking additional volunteers.  How about asking your family members to also volunteer?  Those who are unavailable to work on Sunday, October 9th can help the week prior to event.  Those earlier tasks range from course marking to packing registration packets.

Reminder!  The Brighton Rotary Club is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive in Memory of Doris Longfellow, a long-time Rotarian, banker, businesswoman and member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce.  The date is Monday, September 26, and runs from 10:30 to 4:15 at the Brighton Community Center located at 555 Brighton St.  Call 1-800 Red Cross or visit RedCrossBlood.org – sponsor code RotaryClubs.  Appointments are strongly recommended.

See You Monday!
