Today, September 8, 2008: Rotary District 6380 Governor Stanley "Stan" Sherman will be our
guest speaker. Lets provide him with a royal Rotary
Welcome!
This would be a great meeting to
bring a fellow business associate to learn more about
Rotary.
The Rotary Blood Drive took place on Thursday, September 4th at the Tanger Outlet Center. Hurray for the 17 Rotarians that had the courage to take one hour our of their day and give the gift of life. The Red Cross let us know that we had 10 first time donors, which is a huge number. Total blood donations was 29! Great job by all Rotarians that gave blood and recruited co-workers and friends to do the same. Thanks to all.

Thanks again to those Rotarians who helped with this year's Day of Caring project. Here's one team that worked at the OLHSA transition house:
The County wide Rotary Golf Challenge is set for September 25 at 12-noon at Hunter's Ridge. The basic format is as follows: 2 person teams with handicaps, all players must be Rotarians, 5 team scores will count toward the total team score. Minimum of three teams per club needed. Golf will cost $20 to $25 per person.
Board Members: Remember the Board Meeting is at 11:00 a.m. prior to todays meeting. Governor Stanley Sherman runs the meeting and we share what we are doing. He is a great guy and we should all learn a lot. See you at 11:00 a.m.
TOUR de LIVINGSTON UPDATE;
Tour de Livingston was a huge hit at the United Way Annual Kick Off Breakfast on Thursday, September 4th at Crystal Gardens. We have Peter Bowen and Jim Gilligan to thank for riding their bikes through the breakfast as Kim Dane announced the Tour de Livingston to the United Way participants! It was a great time and Peter and Jim looked great in their spandex shorts. Sorry you missed it!

We have completed an interview with the community news, and we have interviews set up with WHMI and the Press & Argus. Web TV is our next target, hope Brent is ready for us! September 15th is our next club assembly and we will have a list of who has volunteered for what and where we still need help to cover the event. Bring your calendars so you can mark down what times you will be helping us on October 11th!!!!!
