The Howell Rotary Club will meet on Monday, September 26th for lunch at 12:00 in the Community Room at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital on Byron Rd. in Howell.

Our program will be a presentation by Club Member Tim Shamoun featuring his Alaskan Trip to the north slope of the Brooks Range.  Perhaps you’ll be tempted to trace his footsteps into the wilderness of Alaska.  Or, maybe you’ll be encouraged to share you favorite trip with the Club by way of a similar travel presentation.

Club President Steve will spend a few minutes with a power point presentation of some of last portion Governor Youtz’ video that we did not see last week due to time constraints.

Last week we watched a video presentation (incomplete) by District 6380 Governor Steve Youtz.  Governor Youtz addressed the club about a wide range of Rotary programs and initiatives.  His video message was a prelude to his actual Club Visitation.  Originally, Governor Youtz was to visit our club on October 3, but due to some pressing family business his visit has been rescheduled for October 17.

Note:  The “Get Healthy Day” that was scheduled for Saturday, September 24th has been rescheduled.  Watch for more information on this in the local media.

Thank You For Volunteering!  However, we will spend a few minutes this meeting reviewing the planning for our October 9 Tour de Livingston.  Many thanks to all of you who have already stepped forward and put you name on the sheet for a job at the Tour de Livingston.  Jeanne Clum, our Sergeant-at-Arms, will be seeking additional volunteers.

Reminder!  The Brighton Rotary Club is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive in Memory of Doris Longfellow, a long-time Rotarian, banker, businesswoman and member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce.  The date is Monday, September 26, and runs from 10:30 to 4:15 at the Brighton Community Center located at 555 Brighton St.  Call 1-800 Red Cross or visit RedCrossBlood.org – sponsor code RotaryClubs.  Appointments are strongly recommended.

See You Monday!
